Classic varsity, the Gym Issue tops were made in a soft performance jersey, that I also developed into a sporty, yarn dye stripe. The concept was to design easy layers that could be worn during and after practice and workouts. I took the classic crew and hoodie, added a dash of Champion heritage, and pieced breathable mesh into modern silhouettes.
Truly loved this collection. We rented out Aerial Yoga in NYC, and shot so many gorgeous aerial and workout compositions. A modern adaptation of Russian folk dance, this was by far one of my favorite collections to design - such bold color with high-end performance attributes. Great press coverage starring Jaws Nelson and Alexandra Mack – if you don’t know, these women are fierce!
Soft and cozy, I worked with our fabric partners to develop this modal blended French Terry. The entire collection was a loungy to-fro for the modern VS customer, and was featured in the Victoria’s Secret concept catalog for the season.
There is nothing like a good basic at a great price. These were three of the best selling tops, and I think it was because we achieved the perfect fit and blew it out in amazing prints and colors. I also love the inversion pose that captures that great macramé detail at the back of this 2-in-1 tank. The concept centered around tropical prints, which we used in unexpected ways, such as in the bra of the 2-in-1 tank, and the burnout print, for the tieback tank. The entire group looked fresh and feminine, with plenty of on-trend details.
This is Champion performance at its best. We really played up the athletic striping in print and jacquard meshes. I designed the cardio jacket and tops in this group, using bold color blocking and fabric blocking to tie back to the bras and tights. The collection really came together in a fresh and modern way, while remaining true to iconic Champion.
This was an athleisure collection dripping with athletic stripes in graphics and trims. From cozy fleece to velour, I designed each group to have it’s own identity, yet every piece could be worn with each other. My favorite is the cross front pullover with the stripe rib trim, it perfectly captures the effortless and feminine concept.
Inspired by hiking and rock climbing, this collection was about moto details and glamping with function and style. The cardio jacket had a fashionable cross over front opening and a moto tight to match. The crop jacket was made in a performance denim, with mesh piecing for ventilation, and cool-girl moto details at the shoulder and sleeves. Both jackets became staple pieces, as they were so easy to layer on each season. The entire group centered around the hero prints – camo, rock formations and a field of fireflies which had glow in the dark ink for the hooded anorak. The camo vest had a stripe mesh back trim that I developed for the entire group, and was featured on Shape.com for their Get Fit top picks. I love the power and strength of this collection - modern and trendy with functional glam.
Pop Sugar is a regular go-to for fun and effective workouts. I designed this top as part of an elevated train collection, fusing bold fashion with performance, for a “New Year New You”. The concept was for our fashion-forward customer, delivering high-end fabrics and attributes, with fun color blocking and precision trim details – even the drawcords on the pullover had a pop color on the edges that tied back to the color of the aglet. Target did a great holiday promo around the collection - I love the way the color is bright and feminine, yet edgy with confidence. Having my top featured in Pop Sugar was simply icing on the cake.
This was my design for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - a luxurious fleece, blended with a soft leather, to create the ultimate cool-girl moto jacket. Love the way Miranda Kerr and Erin Heatherton rocked this look. The jacket was sold online and instore, so the customer could have a very special piece of the show.
The Bowie inspired, New Americans collection, showcased color blocked splices in modern combinations. I designed this bra with a purposeful high neck and a layer of open-hole mesh that wrapped from front to back. That pop of red truly pulled the whole group together, especially within the custom logo elastic. Dangerously modeled by Alexandra Mack, it’s a celebration of form and function at every turn.
This season was a fusion of organic animal prints and tonal color blocking. Two of the active tops I designed received a nice catalog promo, showcasing mesh and cut-out details, a fashionable tie at the back, and soft performance jerseys you just want to live in all day. The original concept had a beautiful run of teals and oceanic blues, paired back to deep, desert rusts with pops of corals, and tones of mauves and plums. I love how the color comes to life on each page - so warm and modern, sporty and fun!
This collection explored nautical drawtie details in a soft, loose loop French Terry. The natural color of the braided drawties gave it a relaxed and trendy vibe. This fabric was also used in the Supermodel Essentials sweatshirt, a staple piece that always had a run of prints, embellishments, foil, lace – anything that made the customer feel special and fashion forward. One of my favorite designs was the leather jacket mixed with French Terry – sporty, casual and chic!
This collection was an industrial interpretation of ballet - “Steam Punk” elements blended with soft blushes, misty mauves, and pops of deep teals and midnight purples. I loved incorporating the moto pintuck into racer backs and shoulder yokes, merging the two elements into one. The cardio jacket merged this detail with mesh for ventilation, contoured lines for form, moto zippers at the sleeves, and a packable hood within the collar. These were shot at Aerial Yoga in NYC by Chris Fanning, starring Jaws Nelson – she has arms of steel!
Every summer I designed a beach inspired collection around Fleece and French terry. From acid wash to speckled heathers, the concept was always about sexy layers to be worn back to swim. My favorite group included a beaded drawcord I hand designed, with a pop color tassel. It was so fun and feminine, with lace trim details, ikat prints and a range of color that captured the perfect, sea breeze rainbow at sunset.
This was such a fun and inspired season to work on - the color palette had a beautiful range of warms and cools, and the floral print knocked it out of the park. Love the way the open back top was featured in the catalog, and Pop Sugar had a great shot of the mock neck tank that blended butter soft jersey with a second skin woven at the back.
The Hustle and Flow collection was a glamorous revisit of New Year’s in the Disco era. The print infused blades of gold in abstract rain droplets, and the cross front tank was an elegant nod back to the era. I also designed a crew neck in a bonded heather fleece with a solid back. We played with both sides of the fabric and added a hit of mesh trim that picked up the pops of teal and plum from the palette. This was a rich and explosive group of power and movement.
The ponte tight was a premium legging with micro rivets and flattering style lines. The equestrian inspired collection starred Karlie Kloss, and included a countryside plaid with leather insets. Each season we paired this tight within the line, and the waffle pullover combo captured just the right balance of lounge and glam.
